Part 1 land of shadow

Across the barren hills
And through the mountain pass
The misty swamp lies
In silent oppressive darkness

Within the depths
Legend tells
Of an ancient menace
A trickster and deceiver

The swamp deity is known
Across the land of cloud and fire
From the rumbling earth
To its freezing heights

None have met him
And remained the same
As mind traveller and unraveller
Even the mighty are challenged



Part 2 the high lords

The high lords decree
This menace be vanquished
Send forth four heroes
From the corners of the realm

Conquer the demon
And cleanse the land
Stop the madness and sorcery
Defeat the swamp wizard

Their gifts united
Stand but a chance
So the prophets say
Of a final victory

From the safety of their halls
The mighty set forth
To face the unknown menace
And explore his dark lands




Part 3 the wizard's bargain

"Who dare disturb my dreams?"
Warriors four approach
"Ones who seek justice and peace"
The challenge met with laughter

A wheezing voice grows near
The swamp wizard materialises
From the fog of smoke and scent
The enigma approaches

"I bring no darkness on this land
Only slumber and peace
Or fantastic visions beyond reality
If you so choose"

"Those who come to me
Never return
As their minds and spirits
Transcend their mortal cage"



Part 4 transcendence

"I can provide
apotheosis
Mind bending powers
Unharnessed reality"

"Use my gifts sparingly
I warn thee
As your bodies are still anchored
The this mortal land"
