about

First song by Swamp Wizard. Based on the legend of Ragnarok and the battle between the gods and the wolf Fenrir.
Performed live at Shed23 Palmerston North

lyrics

When the stars fade
And the sun and moon are swallowed
When the earth begins to shakes
And the mountains start to crumble
When the trees uproot
And bonds of fellowship break
Finish you ale, pick up your steel
The age of Ragnarok HAS COME

Follow Odin the bell begins to peel

The greatest battle on earth

From the halls of valhalla

The glittering host marches forth

The host of Valhalla
March for the fate of the world
Lead by odin and his son
Heroes of the Aesir
Out of the gloom comes a hellish form
With gaping jaws and flaming eyes
Warriors of valhalla meet their doom

Scraping the skies and gouging the earth
The maw of Fenrir the world wolf
Brave odin meets the beast
Glimmering eye and keen blade

consumed within the jaws
None can stand the doom
Yet vidar stands true and firm
The power of Odin in his veins
He fights for the fate of the world
And into legend he will be hurled
With a mighty wrench he tears the beast
And plunges his blade within

Vidar is victorious
On the field of vigrid
His foe defeated
Though much is lost
To the glorious dead
The world can be rebuilt
From the ashes of the world
New life can now spring
